There is a wide array of accommodations available in Hua Hin depending on your budget and tastes. There are many luxury hotels like the Hilton and the Softel at the high range of the spectrum ($100 – $400 US plus a night). Staying at Softel, if you can afford it may be worth the big bucks in many people’s opinion, as it is beautiful beyond belief. I have heard of some people as well who have gotten terrific deals with Softel during the off season by bartering. Incredibly as much as 50% off but don’t even think about asking during high season. Most of the higher end hotels have their own spas, fitness and restaurant facilities.

Hotels along the beach like the Blue Wave and Antasilla Villa can be expensive ($100US) even though the quality of the rooms may not be any better than the mid range priced ones. With these hotels, you are definitely paying for great access to a more secluded part of the beach. These hotels are not within walking distance of the typical downtown core but they generally do have their own restaurants. As well, a taxis can be called and will come to pick you up quickly when are ready to venture beyond the beach and hotel. Be sure to take a business card with the Thai name on it though as some taxis don’t recognize the English name outside of the downtown core and you may have some difficulty getting back.

Mid range hotels, like the City Beach and higher end guest houses are typically about $40 – 50 a night and have great central location. The beach, shopping, restaurants and the night market are all within easy walking distance. Many hotels have karaoke or pubs, so sometimes noise can be a problem. A few hotels, such as Hua Hin Suites, have a few executive suites, with traditional Thai style. Most westerners do not find this furniture very comfortable so here a lower priced room is preferred.  Most mid range hotels have a/c.

Guest houses are inexpensive between $15 and $20 a night but may not have air conditioning, and often share bathrooms. They are usually one room with a fan, T.V. and bed and have a central guest lounge. Most are clean and quaint but generally lend themselves more towards back packers and young singles or anyone who don’t mind roughing it a bit in order to see Thailand on a budget. They also tend to be close to the bars and pubs.
